A Trip That Brings You Closer to Nature

Nickerson Lake

Preservation Since 1983

Nickerson Lake Wilderness Preservation, Inc.

NLWP was formed in 1983 for the purpose of managing 90 acres of forestland and nearly one mile of Nickerson Lake shoreline which had been bequeathed by James Pierce. Since that time and only with the help of generous donors, an additional 97 acres and 3/4 mile of shoreline have been added, to be kept “forever wild”. The by-laws have also been changed to include protection of the lake’s waters as well as the land around it.

Click here for a map of property owned by NLWP which is approximately 233 acres on the south side of Nickerson Lake. The perimeter of the lake is 5.1 miles and this parcel accounts for 1.75 miles of that frontage.
